Covid Scare: Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences postpones examinations

Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, Etawah, has notified the postponement of MBBS Second Professional and Final Professional Part-1 and Part-2 examinations, as per a letter shared by RDA (Resident Doctors Association) in Uttar Pradesh.

Amid the rising Covid-19 cases, Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, Etawah, has announced the postponement of the MBBS Second Professional Examination which was scheduled to be conducted in January 2022 and the MBBS Final Professional Part-1 and Part-2 examination which were to be held in February 2022.

The new schedules for these examinations will be announced soon, adds the official notification. RDA Uttar Pradesh has tweeted, "UPDATE: Welcome move by UPUMS by postponing university exams. It will give time for the positive students to recover from covid and appear in exams with their own batch. Stay Safe... Thanks n regard #UnitedWeStand"

The exams are expected to be conducted after February 21, as tweeted earlier by RDA Uttar Pradesh. The previous tweet reads, "UPDATE : We have just got news from authorities,UPUMS Saifai tht they are planing to postpone the exams Exams wil conducted on an After 21 feb But we advice Plz continue ur studies till official written order for the same Thanks for Support Regards @hemantrajora_ @FordaIndia"

As per the new guidelines released on Sunday, all schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till January 23, 2022.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has confirmed that the state has nearly 1.03 lakh active cases. On Sunday, Lucknow reported as many as 2,300 positive cases that took the total active cases tally in Lucknow to 16,300. As per CM Yogi, less than 1% of patients are admitted to the hospital, as confirmed by NDTV.
