DMCH medicos clash with medicine traders; 6 injured
A group of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) students have allegedly attacked the medicine shops and set the shops on fire.
Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) students have reportedly put many medicine shops, two cars and one motorcycle on fire in Darbhanga. There are at least six people who got injured in this clash of students with the medicine traders.
“Soon after getting information, 2-3 fire tenders were pressed into service to extinguish fire. The incident reportedly took place after an argument between a medical shop owner and DMCH medicos. Adequate police reinforcement along with magistrate has been deployed on the campus. Three policemen, including one critically injured, were undergoing treatment in hospital”, said sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Krishnandan Prasad, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The locals in the area have said that the incident started when two students of DMCH went to purchase medicines from a medical shop and the shop owner denied giving them medicine which led to a verbal spat between them.
Reportedly, the shop owner threw scissors on one of the students and injured him and after this, the student called other students from the hostel. The students put the shop on fire using petrol. As the fire spread, the adjacent shops and vehicles parked in front of shops also caught fire.
The shop owners and locals also started fighting with these medical students. The students were so furious that they have reportedly injured three police personnel.
