Docs' Associations support PGIMS Rohtak MBBS students protest against bond

The MBBS students of PGIMS Rohtak have been protesting against the bond policy for MBBS admissions in Haryana. Doctors associations Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) and RDA RML have supported the protest and their demands.

FAIMA tweet reads, "We stand in solidarity with #PGIMS_ROHTAK MBBS Students & we support Resident Doctors all over India in their protest against #Bond_Policy We demand Justice for the students! Otherwise we would be forced to go for nationwide strike!"

The protesting students were reportedly even beaten by Rohtak policy on the night of November 4.

"MBBS Students arrested, harassed and brutally dragged by police! No female constable to arrest female students!#BOND_FREE_INDIA. This is totally violation of "Right To Equality" Only Doctors are being forced to work as #BondedLabour!," read another tweet by FAIMA.
Deepender S Hooda, Member of Parliament tweeted, "The only fault of these students, who were facing police brutality at PGI Rohtak at 2:30 pm, is that they dreamed of becoming doctors after being born in poor, middle-class families. During the Hooda government, the MBBS fee was Rs 20,000, which has been increased to 40 lakhs by the Khattar government. From where did the parents get so much money?"
RDA RML also supported these students and condemn the act of police against the protesting doctors.
"The act of violence towards doctors is completely unacceptable and unethical. Hence would lkie to request the ministry concerned to kindly revert back the bond and to tender an unconditional apology from police for violence against the doctors and we demand strict action to be taken against them," said statement of RDA RML.
