Doctors protest against Right to Health Bill continues in Rajasthan

The doctors' protest against the Right to Health bill is still going on in Rajasthan. On the other hand, the government is not ready to take the bill back at any cost. All the doctors' associations including the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), and Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) are supporting the movement.

Also, to protest against the bill, doctors from RDA RML Delhi, AIIMS Bhopal, VMMC & Safdarjung hospital New Delhi observed the black day yesterdsay by wearing black ribbons.

The health department has directed the principals of medical colleges to ensure that the medical services in OPD, IPD, ICU, and emergency and maternity wards are not affected. The government has also asked to take action against the doctors for leaving voluntarily and without prior approval and cancel their registrations.

As per the government's circular, all medical teachers, doctors, residents, paramedical and nursing staff can be given leave by principals only when it is needed and the departments will get the list of doctors on leave in advance.

"If anyone takes leave without permission, disciplinary action will be taken against such medicos," reads government's circular.

On this, FORDA India has tweeted, "1 year to the unfortunate death of #DrArchana, due to bad policies for #doctors in #Rajasthan. And it hasn’t changed even today! #SayNoToRTH. We support and stand with the #Mahaband at Rajasthan & strongly condemn & challenge the cheap politics of threatening @jardsmsjaipur by cancelling their RMC registration!!"
