FORDA representatives meeting health ministry officials over bond policy

The agitating MBBS students of Haryana along with Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) representatives are once again meeting the state health ministry officials today. The meeting was scheduled for 1: 30 pm today.

FORDA's tweet reads, "Haryana protest & FORDA representatives will meet with the ministry officials today at 1.30pm.We hope that this meeting is fruitful and not just another failed and half hearted attempt by the govt.Students of Haryana-We stand with you. @OfficeOf_MM @cmohry @anilvijminister"

The protests and talks are going on but the students and government are unable to find a common solution to the INR 40 lakh bond policy issue.

The government wants the students to sign a bond policy while taking admission to the MBBS course, as per this if the students will fail to serve the state for seven years after completing the course, they need to pay INR 40 lakh to the government. However, the students say that instead of this agreement, the government must provide them with compulsory service after the course so that they can serve the state and the issue of the shortage of doctors could be handled but the government denied their proposal.

Pankaj Bitthu, MBBS student at PGIMS Rohtak tweeted, "MBBS students placed before the government the proposal of Compulsory Service for every MBBS graduate in government hospitals: Government rejected. The intention is clear, the shortage of doctors is just an excuse, the real aim is to take 40 lakhs in the name of bond."

As per reports, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar can also meet the agitating students today.
