Fraudster fakes WhatsApp account of Director Principal of GMCH in Chandigarh

An anonymous person was asking for gift cards in name of Prof Jasbinder Kaur, Director Principal of GMCH Sector 32 in Chandigarh, read here to know more.
A fraud person faked the WhatsApp account of Prof Jasbinder Kaur, Director Principal of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector 32 in Chandigarh and has been asking for gift cards.
"Yesterday again an anonymous person sent WhatsApp messages from a different mobile number to many persons impersonating me," said Dr Jasbinder, as reported by TOI.
An official of the GMCH Sector 32 said, earlier also, the same fake messages were sent to many persons pretending to be from Dr Jasbinder.
GMCH Sector 32 made several complaints to cyber police
The college has made many complaints to cyber police since March but the messages continue to come from the fake number.
"Complaints had been sent by the director principal to the DGP and cyber cell since March. But the messages did not stop," said Dr Jasbinder.
"First it was sent to the administrative staff and now to the doctors and faculty. Two were almost at the point of getting duped. But called me to confirm," added Dr Jasbinder.
Recently, UT police have registered FIR against an unknown person for allegedly creating fake profiles with display picture of Director General of Police (DGP) Praveer Ranjan and demanding gift cards.
UT administration decides to restart Jan Aushadhi Kendras at GMCH-32
The administration has decided to restart the Jan Aushadhi Kendras at GMCH-32 and Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH-16) in Sector 16, said the health secretary Yashpal Garg.
“In May this year, Ravi Dadhich, chief executive officer (CEO) Jan Aushadhi, visited Chandigarh and the issue of non-functional centres was taken up with him. When asked if we can run the centres on the lines of PGIMER, he suggested that the centres should be allotted through a transparent bidding process,” Garg said, as reported by Hindustan Times.
