All India Medical Association (AIMA) is demanding strict action against the GNM nursing staff of GMCH (Government Medical College & Hospital) Bettiah Bihar who misbehaved and reportedly beat the interns.

In a shocking incident, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) staff of GMCH (Government Medical College & Hospital) Bettiah, Bihar, have reportedly misbehaved and beaten the interns. The All India Medical Association (AIMA) has demanded strict action against the culprits.

AIMA tweet reads, "G.N.M nursing staff of G.M.C.H, BETTIAH,BIHAR misbehaved with an intern and on urguing beat the intern badly,they contact with local goons and beat the medical students whom they found in the library including girls. Strict action should be taken immediately against the culprits."

Police complain details in GMCH Bettiah case

In the police complaint, it is written that the incident occurred in the Emergency area of the casualty ward where the male nursing staff misbehaved with the female doctor and when other doctors opposed this the nursing staff abused them and when doctors from other wards intervened, the nursing staff became more aggressive."

"Uday Karmakar, the Head Clerk of Hospital told the nursing staff to take hockey sticks and another sharp medical instrument like scissors and attack on the doctors on duty. After that, the students were also beaten up badly by the nursing staff," added the complaint.

As per the police complaint, the names of the accused nursing staff are Sameer, Lal Babu, Firoz and Manish and other 20 people who can be identified by face.

Doctors who are seriously injured are Prashant Kumar, Aditya Roshan, Chiranjeevi Raj, Sarvesh Kumar Gupta, Umesh Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Mohammed Kashif, Kanhaiya Bhardwaj, Shashi Kumar Swaraj, Akshay Kumar Verma and a few first year female students.
