Government Medical College in Amritsar suspends 12 students
The government medical college in Amritsar has taken strict action against 12 medical students who were found to be creating indiscipline on the campus.
The incident occurred nearly 10 days back when two groups of students entered into a verbal spat. The incident took an ugly turn when one of the students got injured.
The college authorities took the matter seriously and suspended the students involved in this incident. As per the college, six of these students were undergoing internships after completing their MBBS and the other six were still pursuing their medical courses.
The college committee, including the principal, thoroughly probed the incident and then took this decision to suspend students. Dr JS Kular, the Vice-Principal, said that it would send a stern message to students that no indiscipline will be tolerated inside the campus.
Admission to the government medical college Amritsar is conducted by the Punjab NEET counselling for the MBBS programme. There are nearly 23 courses offered by the college and the most popular ones are MBBS and MD.
