Haryana Govt Approves 43% Increase in Stipend for MBBS Students; Details Inside

Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini sanctioned a 43% increase in stipend for MBBS interns of all government and private institutions. However, the clarification for the BDS internship stipend is yet to be announced. 

The Haryana Government has granted approval to increase the amount of stipend paid to MBBS interns in all government and private institutions affiliated with Pt. BD Sharma UHS, Rohtak. Now the MBBS interns will receive INR 24,310, which is approximately 43% higher than the present stipend of INR 17000. 

Reportedly, the last increase in MBBS stipend in Haryana was sanctioned in the year 2018, from INR 12,000 to INR 17,000 per month. The revised monthly stipend for MBBS interns, taking into account all of the above considerations, is proposed at INR 24,310, which includes the DA adjustments for the period of 2018 to 2024.

Throughout their critical training period, the Government of Haryana is dedicated to offering financial stability and assistance to its medical interns. The interns' financial challenges will be reduced and they will be able to concentrate on their professional development with the help of an increased stipend.

Meanwhile, stakeholders and students have raised their concerns regarding the partial completion of the primary demand and not considering the increase in the BDS stipend till now.  

"We are grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for this decision, but this is not complete as our primary demand sent by UG students and @rdarohtak was to increase in both MBBS and BDS. no comments on BDS till now. Sir, please look into this." Dr Prajwal Ravindra, a Radiation Specialist, shared on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
