Himachal Medical Colleges to get world-class facilities, says CM Sukhu
Himachal Pradesh is all set to notch up its medical healthcare services. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that soon the medical colleges of the state will have world-class facilities. Soon medical colleges of Himachal Pradesh will get world-class facilities, as said by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday. He said the state government is working towards providing ample employment opportunities to doctors despite limited job opportunities in the government medical sector.
The government is all set to introduce robotic surgery in Tanda, Shimla, Nerchowk and Hamripur medical colleges. Moreover, the latest PET scan and ST scan facilities would be provided in Tanda and Shimla medical colleges, he said.
“A modern cancer hospital is going to be built in Hamirpur and the state government has constituted the Medical Service Corporation, which will bring transparency to government procurement,” the CM said, as reported by TOI.
CM Sukhu at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College first Convocation
The chief minister said this while presiding over the first convocation ceremony of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk, in Mandi district. He also presented internship certificates to the first batch of MBBS doctors.
On students' demand, he directed the administration to find out the land for establishing a sports ground and an additional hostel.
The Chief Minister said the Department of emergency medicine is being created by the HP government, under which doctors and paramedical staff will work eight-hour shifts.
