It was disappointing that long long-sought demand of Kerala for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) or rail development projects in the state, found no mention in the budget 2023, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023 on February 1, 2023.

Kerala's demand of AIIMS, rail development projects not mentioned in budget 2023: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

The union budget 2023 was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2023. Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is not very pleased with the announcements as he feels that the state's demands were neglected and also the budget does not attempt to solve the growing economic disparities in India.

"The Union Budget 2023-24 does not attempt to solve the growing economic disparities in the country," he said, as reported by Devdiscourse.

His reaction to the budget is that it only further strengthens the concentration of wealth among corporates. He also opined that the budget has not taken a regionally balanced approach.

"It was disappointing that the long-sought demand of Kerala for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) or rail development projects in the state, found no mention in the budget," he said.
