LLRM Medical College Meerut: Peaceful march carried out against local goons

Even the hostel gates are not safe from the outside goons, said a health activist on the X platform.

LLRM Medical College, located in Uttar Pradesh, is facing serious threats from outside local goons allegedly supported by local politicians.

A Health activist from Uttar Pradesh said on X platform, "Peaceful march was carried out by Medical students of #Meerut Medical College are hurt by the beating, molestation & stagnation of administration by outside goons. Students are troubled by the increasing cases of teasing, riots & demanding the arrest of the main accused"

"Hooliganism at it's peak in one of the most revered medical college! Even the hostel gates are not safe! Requesting to @myogiadityanath ji. Kindly take strict action against culprits!!," he said through another message on X.

As reported earlier, on February 19, 2024, a series of attacks occurred both within the college campus and its vicinity, resulting in the brutal assault of two doctors.

All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) had also said earlier this alarming development underscores the inadequacy of existing security measures, leaving the college community vulnerable to such violence.

AIMSA had urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's intervention in this matter and swift and decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff at LLRM Medical College. "Immediate steps must be implemented to address the root causes of this menace and restore a sense of security within the campus environment," added AIMSA.

The Association also alleged that female medicos feel unsafe outside the campus.
