Many IGMC's senior doctors get selected for AIIMS Bilaspur

Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) is going to lose at least five senior faculty members to All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur, shortly  as these doctors and also a few other doctors from different medical colleges in the state got selected for AIIMS Bilaspur recently.

As per Tribune India report, this will impact the functioning of IGMC. “Losing senior faculty members will affect the institution’s functioning. The impact will be felt more in smaller departments,” said IGMC Principal Surinder Singh.

Earlier also, many doctors have left for AIIMS and IGMC is still to get the replacements of these doctors. The faculty shortage is hampering the functioning of IGMC.

AIIMS Bilaspur

BJP President JP Nadda had visited AIIMS Bilaspur last month and said, "The AIIMS here should be seen by all. This hospital is going to become the largest hospital in North India. Let us tell you that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences built in Bilaspur is a hospital and education institute. The foundation stone of this institute was laid on 4 October 2017. In this AIIMS, patients will get state-of-the-art facilities related to every disease. Here people will get better treatment at a lower cost than a private hospital."

AIIMS Bilaspur has recently inked an MoU with the National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Visual Disabilities, Dehradun, and the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Sundernagar, to provide quality medical care and rehabilitative services for the welfare of specially abled persons (divyangjan).
