MBBS courses in 3 new Rajasthan medical colleges likely from next year
Rajasthan government is working on to start MBBS courses in three new medical colleges from the next session and also to add 300 MBBS seats soon.
On Sunday, the Rajasthan state government informed that they are working towards adding 300 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) seats soon and they intend to start MBBS courses in three new medical colleges from the next session.
Medical education secretary Vaibhav Galriya said construction of three new government medical colleges in Dholpur, Chittorgarh and Sriganganagar was in progress. The state government aims to start MBBS courses in these three medical colleges from the next session. In this regard, he held a meeting with officials and people's representatives.
Sri Ganganagar MLA Rajkumar Gaur said in the meeting that with the construction of the new government medical colleges, the medical facilities available to the general public would increase. There would be no shortage of funds in the construction of additional medical colleges and maximum assistance would be given from the MLA fund if needed.
As per TOI, Medical education commissioner Shivangi Swarnakar said that the National Medical Commission (NMC) will conduct the mandatory inspection before starting the new medical colleges. The inspection is likely to be completed by April before the beginning of the new session in May.
One needs to qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) to take admission to the MBBS courses in Rajasthan. NEET UG 2021 was conducted on September 12 in 202 cities for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), BSc (Hons) Nursing, Veterinary, and AYUSH programmes. Rajasthan offers a total of 3683 MBBS seats.
