Medicos who cleared final MBBS exams till AY 2022-23 to get provisional registration in SMC: NMC

All the medical graduates who have cleared their final MBBS examinations till AY 2022-23 shall be granted provisional registration in the concerned SMC & subsequent internship in their Parent Colleges immediately.

National Medical Commission has said that all the medical students who have cleared their final MBBS examinations till the academic year 2022-23 shall be granted provisional registration in the concerned State Medical Council and subsequent internship in their Parent Colleges immediately, irrespective of the recognition status.

NMC also released a circular regarding BCME/RBCW/BCMET. The commission stated that all stakeholders in the Faculty Development Programm (FDP) Workshop conducted under the nomenclature BCME or rBCW or BCMET are all considered at par. Therefore, if a faculty has undergone any of these, within the prescribed guidelines, it is to be considered as completed/attended.

NMC invited applications for the engagement of standing counsels to represent in the Supreme Court, High Courts and their Benches all over the country and at other Legal fora, rendering legal advice, drafting petitions/counter affidavits and vetting legal documents, etc. The last date to apply is June 23, 2023. All the applications received will be scrutinized by a screening committee, once approved, the shortlisted candidates shall be interviewed by physical/virtual mode, at the discretion of the competent authority.

NMC has been constituted by an Act of Parliament known as the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 which came into force on September 25, 2020, by Gazette Notification dated September 24, 2020.

The commission consists of four autonomous boards, namely Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) and Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB).
