National Institute of Siddha's Director entrusted responsibilities of DG, CCRS

Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) has announced that the director of the National Institute of Siddha will now also be entrusted with the responsibilities of Director General at CCRS.

Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) has confirmed that Prof R. Meenakumari, director of the National Institute of Siddha is entrusted with the additional charge of Director General, CCRS effective from November 21, 2022.

CCRS tweet reads, "Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari, Director, National Institute of Siddha is entrusted with the additional charge of Director General, Central Council for Research in Siddha with effect from 21-11-2022 in addition to the present assignment."

National Institute of Siddha and Cancer Institute, Adyar ink extension of MoU for 5 years

Recently, the National Institute of Siddha and Cancer Institute and Adyar have signed an extension of the MoU between the two institutes for the next five years.

Prof Meenakumari and Dr. G. Selvaluxmy, Director, of the Cancer Institute have signed the official documents. Coincidentally, the MoU is signed on National Cancer Awareness Day which is observed on November 7 in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Madame Curie for her significant contributions to the fight against cancer. 

The day highlights the significance of increased awareness about cancer prevention and about early detection of cancer for the general public. On this day, both institutions have assured to undertake an integrated Cancer treatment approach for the benefit of cancer patients. The Associate Director Dr Kalpana Balakrishnan from Cancer Institute and the faculties from NIS Dr B.R. Senthilkumar and Dr V. Suba participated in the event held at Cancer Institute, Adyar, Chennai.
