NBE Invites Online Applications from Medicos for Grant of ‘Honorary Professor’ Title

Medical professionals fulfilling the eligibility criteria for the NBE honorary professor title can apply online at natboard.edu.in from April 18 onwards. 

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is inviting applications from medicos seeking a grant of the 'Honorary Professor' title. Medical professionals fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be eligible to submit their application in online mode by visiting natboard.edu.in, from April 18. 

Eligibility Criteria for Honorary Professor Title

The below requirements shall be completed by the medical practitioners in order to be eligible for the NBE Honorary Professor title: 

1. Four Research Publications in Indexed Journals.
2. The applicant shall have the Post PG experience in their respective speciality in a full-time basis as an NBEMS faculty or consultant for the DNB/DeNB programme from an NBEMS-accredited institution. The Post PG experience in a broad speciality course shall be of 18 years while the Super Speciality course experience shall be of 16 years. 

"This also includes Post PG experience (prior to becoming a DNB/DrNB faculty) obtained working on a full-time basis in the concerned accredited department. Working on a part-time/visiting basis or in a non-accredited department shall not be considered towards experience for grant of NBEMS Honorary Professor." The official notification reads. 

NBE Honorary Professor Title Highlights

• A faculty will be eligible for a grant of title irrespective of whether the required experience is in the continuation or not. 
• Each medical practitioner shall ensure they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as indicated by NBE. 
• Mere submission of the NBE Honorary Title application form does not guarantee the title of faculty title. 
• NMBEHS holds all the rights to make any addition/deletion in the provided eligibility criteria. 

The authorities have mentioned that the online faculty title ship application form is available at natboard.edu.in. Students may contact NBEMS through the communication portal in case of any query/assistance.
