Supreme Court Advocate urges all parties to keep faith and keep trying to postpone NEET 2020. He also urges the students to keep studying during this period.

NEET 2020 Latest Updates

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled to be conducted on September 13. A petition to postpone the examination was filed in the Supreme Court of India by Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava in August. The petition was dismissed by the bench stating that the reasons stated were not sufficient and that the court will not interfere in the decision made by the experts. With the commencement of JEE Mains, the aspirants of NEET 2020 lost all hopes of the examination being postponed.

However, the Advocate who originally fought the case in the apex court is still hopeful. The Advocate has cited examples of cases such as that of Sushant Singh Rajput, migrant labourers and UGC, which were initially dismissed by the apex court. However, fresh petitions in the above cases were accepted later after a few modifications. He tweeted that he is still trying to get NEET 2020 postponed.

On August 31, Advocate Srivastava shared a snapshot of an email with the draft of the revised petition for NEET 2020. He added that thought the petition has been vetted by a Senior Advocate, he decided not to file it given the current circumstances.
