NEET 2020 likely to be postponed again, verdict expected by Friday

Following the decision of the Supreme Court on CBSE exam dates, NTA is expected to give some clarity on NEET exam date 2020. Experts suggest that NEET 2020 is likely to be postponed.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to announce the final verdict on NEET 2020 exam date on Friday, June 26. The decision will majorly be impacted by the verdict of the Supreme Court on the pending CBSE Board examinations. The apex court is likely to announce its verdict on Thursday, June 25.

Since the new exam date for NEET 2020 have been announced, there is a lot of speculation around whether the exam will be conducted on the said date or not. Many students and parents have formally expressed their concerns related to NEET 2020 being conducted on July 26 amid an ongoing pandemic. Students have signed petitions to postpone the examination. The social media is flooded with posts requesting the authorities to move the NEET 2020 exam dates.

The new NEET 2020 date was announced on May 5. According to the latest notification, NEET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on July 26. However, a large number of test-takers and the increasing risk of contracting the novel coronavirus at the test centres have caused panic among the student community.

The number of infected cases in India is also rising with every passing day. If the graph continues to follow the same trend, many NEET 2020 aspirants may be infected/quarantined by July 26. Allowing these students to appear for the NEET 2020 will put the others at risk. Now allowing them to appear for NEET 2020 will be unfair to them. This and many other reasons have been stated by the aspirants in their petition to postpone NEET exam date 2020.
