NEET 2021 Confusion Continues

The National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting body for NEET 2021 had launched the official website on June 2. Even though the website did not contain the NEET 2021 information bulletin or schedule, it stated that the online application process will start soon. However, on June 3, the website’s content, including the ticker message that stated that the online application process will start soon, was removed. Apart from the header, there is no other information on the webpage. Sample this.

On the other hand, the NEET 2021 website’s first look was as follows:

This gave an assurance to the aspirants that there is some headway to the NEET 2021 exam and the ambiguity regarding the exam’s status is finally being addressed. But the hope did not last long as all the information were removed within a day. This left the NEET 2021 aspirants further confused and bewildered.

In an RTI response, NTA has stated that NEET 2021 is slated to be conducted on August 1 and if the date is changed due to an unavoidable circumstance, then it would be notified on the official website.
The status of NEET 2021 and JEE Main exams was scheduled to be reviewed today. Although no official information has been declared yet, it is expected that NTA will provide clarity on the official website soon.

Meanwhile, a number of aspirants are appealing to the Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ to postpone NEET 2021 to September or October. It is expected that NTA will release the information brochure carrying the NEET 2021 important dates soon.

As per the tentative schedule, the application process is likely to begin from the second week of June. NEET 2021 will be conducted in a paper-pencil based mode for a duration of three hours in approximately 155 test centres across India. Around 16 lakh aspirants are likely to appear for the test.
