NTA has cancelled the NEET 2023 exam at the Manipur centres owing to a violent situation in the state. The rescheduled exam date will be announced later. As many as 5,750 candidates were scheduled to appear for the exam in two centres in Manipur. Get the details here.

NEET 2023 Exam Rescheduled at Manipur

NEET 2023 exam has been cancelled at Manipur centres due to ongoing violence in the state. NTA will issue fresh dates later. Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State, Education had written to NTA, requesting them to "explore the possibility of rescheduling" the exam, in the wake of the situation in Manipur.

NTA has issued a notice that states, β€œOn the request of the State Government of Manipur and in the wake of the law and order situation, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET (UG)] – 2023, which was scheduled to be held on 07 May 2023 (Sunday), has been postponed only for the candidates who has examination Centre in Manipur state until further notice.”

NTA is also informing candidates from the state through automatic voice calls and SMS. As many as 5,751 candidates were scheduled to appear in two NEET 2023 exam centres in the state. Talking about the situation, Dr Singh said, β€œNow the situation is improving. It's improving when the central paramilitary force and others to assist in resting the violence have already arrived in Manipur. They have started to control, all the unwanted mob situation is already under control."

NEET UG 2023 will be conducted on May 7, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM in 499 cities across India and abroad. Around 21 lakh candidates have applied for the exam.
