A plea has been filed at the Delhi High Court against the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the 'Out of Syllabus' questions at the NEET 2024 exam dated May 5, 2024. The court has granted two weeks to the exam authorities, NTA, Centre and the National Medical Commission (NMC) to file their responses to the petition.
The petitioner has claimed that one question from the Physics subject was on ‘Radioactivity’. Whereas the topic was removed from the revised NEET 2024 syllabus. The petition also mentioned a ‘manifest error’ in another question for which NTA declared the ‘incorrect option’ as the correct answer on the NEET 2024 answer key. According to the petitioner, these factors have adversely affected his ranking.
The next hearing on this case is scheduled for July 16, 2024.
The plea filed through Advocate Sameer Kumar stated, “It is submitted that irregularities in competitive exams and that too where the examination is being held for preparing a host of future doctors, clearly deserves to be appreciated with utmost seriousness as it not only perpetuates inequalities by favouring the undeserving but while disadvantaging those in whose hands the health of the people of nations will rest in years to come.”
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing into the irregularities of NEET 2024 exam. The CBI teams have visited Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat to investigate and have arrested two accused from Patna related to this case.
