NEET 2024 Counselling Postponed Until Further Notice
The NEET 2024 counselling process was scheduled to begin on July 6, 2024. The NEET 2024 counselling process was scheduled to begin on July 6, 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has not released the schedule or any announcement regarding the NEET UG counselling 2024 yet.
The Supreme Court of India led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will hear various NEET UG 2024 pleas on July 8, 2024. A decision on NEET 2024 counselling is expected to be taken further to the hearing.
In the earlier hearing, the apex court had stated that there would not be any delay in the NEET counselling process 2024, and the process would start on July 6, 2024. At the same time, the next hearing date is July 8, 2024.
The petitions that were filed in the Supreme Court included allegations of paper leak, irregularities in the scoring system, inflated number of toppers, among others. Candidates had demanded cancellation of the full exam and re-conduct of the test, whereas others demanded strong action against NTA.
CBI Investigation on NEET 2024 Controversies
Meanwhile, the Centre had deployed the Central Board of India to investigate about NEET 2024 row including paper leak and other malpractices. So far, seven key accused people have been arrested from Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat. No investigation is yet to reach a conclusion, or a final report is yet to be submitted.
NEET 2024 counselling is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
