NEET 2024 Registrations Exceed 22 lakh; Application Process Ending on March 16

NEET 2024 registration and application process is underway from February 9 to March 16, 2024. As per reports, the NEET 2024 application number has exceeded 22 lakh, which is higher than last year. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are states with highest number of NEET applications. Know the details here.

NEET 2024 registration and application process is underway till March 16, 2024. The original date of the NEET 2024 application process was March 9, 2024. As per some media reports, over 22.79 lakh have already registered till March 9, 2024. Last year, the total number of registrations was 20.87 lakh.

As quoted by a national daily, Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General, NTA said, “There was a massive rush in the last few days of the application. We have received requests from candidates not being able to link their Aadhaar for various reasons. This includes some candidates who were waiting for an update of Aadhaar as well. Therefore, we have extended the deadline for a week so that aspirants can register.”

Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan Top States of NEET 2024 Application

According to Singh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan have received the highest NEET 2024 applications, as per the data received till March 9, 2024. While Uttar Pradesh received 3.23 lakh candidates, Maharashtra and Rajasthan received 2.69 lakh and 1.9 lakh applications respectively. These states are followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with 1.49 lakh and 1.47 lakh candidates.

Delhi Top Exam City Choice for NEET 2024

NTA DG also stated that Delhi is the top exam city choice for candidates with 65,809 candidates opting for the capital city as their first preference. Patna and Jaipur stand second and third city choices with 48,595 and 46,190 candidates.

Over 12 lakh Female Candidates Applied for NEET 2024 So Far

Over 12 lakh female candidates have applied for NEET 2024 as on March 9, which is the highest till date. The number of male applicants is 10 lakh. Last year, the total number of male and female applicants was 9,02,936 and 11,84,513 respectively.

The NEET 2024 application process will close on March 16, 2024, 10.50 PM, and the application fee has to be paid by 11.50 PM. NTA had released the application form on February 9, 2024. The exam will be conducted on May 5, 2024, in 568 cities across India and abroad.
