NEET 2025 CBT Mode

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025 exam is expected to be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The centre is analysing the outcome of conducting NEET 2025 in online mode. Stakeholders suggested that the NEET 2025 exam in online mode would keep the exam's integrity intact in the wake of the NEET 2024 controversy.

At present, the NEET UG exam is conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper mode. Students have to solve multiple choice questions (MCQ) and ticket the correct answers in the OMR sheet. Centre is considering conducting NEET UG exam in CBT mode as entrance examinations like JEE Main and JEE Advanced are already being conducted in CBT mode.

The Union Ministry of Education has also launched a portal where the committee is seeking suggestions and ideas from stakeholders, specifically from parents and students regarding reform of the examination process conducted through NTA. Reportedly, the centre is planning to conduct NEET 2025 exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, as reported by Times Now News. However, the official confirmation from the Union Ministry of Education or NTA is yet to be made.

Meanwhile, students urge to remove or change the structure and functioning of NTA. Students have shown their disappointment with previous measures taken owing to the NEET 2024 controversy.  As per the latest turn of events, a high-level committee has been established under the Chairmanship of Dr K. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, ISRO for the betterment of the examination mechanism and functioning of NTA.
