NEET cut off 2019 lowered by DCI for admissions to BDS; counselling starts September 12

NEET cut off 2019 lowered by 10 percentile as per the direction of DCI. Revised NEET result 2019 will be released by the NTA. The stray round of counselling starts on September 12.

The Medical Counselling Committee announced the dates for the stray round of NEET counselling 2019 for admission to BDS courses on September 7. This was after the lowering of the NEET cut off 2019 for BDS programmes by 10 percentile. The decision to conduct a stray round for the counselling of NEET and to lower the cut off came after the authorities noticed several vacant seats scattered across various institutions.

NEET cut off 2019 has been lowered by 10 percentile across categories. The Dental Council of India had released the official notification directing the National Testing Agency to release a revised result of NEET 2019 on September 6. Revised NEET result 2019 is expected to be released soon.

As per the revised NEET cut off 2019, candidates who have secured 40 percentile will be considered eligible to take admission in BDS courses. The cut off of NEET 2019 is still lower for the for reserved category candidates, with 30 percentile for PWD category and 30 percentile for reserved category. The candidates who become eligible to participate in the NEET counselling post the release of revised results, have to register themselves online on the official website of MCC before September 13. It is mandatory to register online for participating in the stray round of NEET counselling. Post successful registration, candidates have to report in-person to the allocated institute on or before September 15 to confirm the admission.
