NEET MDS 2024: NSUI makes urgent appeal for exam postponement; Dental Association backs demand

NEET MDS 2024: While NBE has extended the NEET MDS 2024 cut-off date from March 31, 2024, to June 30, 2024, and confirmed that the government has no plans to postpone the examination, again student union is appealing to the government for the exam deferment. The National Students' Union of India has made a fresh appeal to the government to reconsider its decision to not postpone the examination.

All India Students Dental Association has also come in support of NSUI demand. The Association said on the X platform, "We req ministry to reconsider there decision & atleast revert in favour of students."

NSUI has once again highlighted the lack of time for preparation and huge uncertainty which is giving extreme mental stress to the aspirants.

The union also said that there are discrepancies in data provided by the Dental Council of India which raises concerns about the accuracy and reliability of their submission. Covid- affected MBBS interns received appropriate measures but the same is not the case with BDS interns, added NSUI.

The student union also suggested scheduling common counselling and admissions of the NEET MDS 2024 exam after internship completion considering pandemic-induced training delays.

Earlier, DCI in its notice said that the government may conduct the NEET MDS 2024 counselling before NEET PG 2024 counselling.
