Similar to the previous year, the NEET PG 2023 candidates are also demanding to postpone the medical entrance test by 6-8 weeks.
Despite massive protests last year, the government decided to go ahead with the exam as per the schedule so that they can bring normalcy to the admission cycles post the delayed counselling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

NEET PG 2023 deferment demand reasons
Following are the reasons the students circulating on Twitter:
- 8000 interns are still ineligible from MP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Telangana. These students demand an eligibility extension to July 31 to accommodate them. With the possibility of NEXT EXAM coming year, the interns from these states deserve their last chance to attempt NEET PG.
- The gap between NEET PG 2023 exam and the internship cut-off date is 4 months. The counselling process requires an internship completion certificate and cannot start smoothly till then; even if started earlier, it would require a tedious tracking of internship completion of a large number of students which would be chaotic.
"A midway solution in the best interest of MOST of the aspirants is to extend eligibility of NEET PG 2023 till July 31 and defer the exam for 6-8 weeks. It won't affect the process for NBE, NMC, or MCC," said the students in their demands.
NBE announced the exam date to be March 5, 2023. The registration process started on January 7, 2023, and the last date to register for the exam is January 27, 2023.
