NEET PG 2023 Counselling expected to be delayed

As per a letter from the government to various medical institutes, it is expected that the NEET PG 2023 counselling can be delayed again this year.

While Medical Counselling Committee is expected to announce the NEET PG 2023 counselling schedule soon at the official website mcc.nic.in, it is now expected that the counselling can get delayed this year also. 

"Once agn an expected delay in NEET PG counselling can be forecasted," tweeted Dr Rohan Krishnan, FAIMA National Chairman.

The government has written to the Medical Superintendents of SJH, RMLH and Directors of LHMC, CIP Ranchi, AIIPMR Mumbai, AIIHPH Kolkata, NEIGRIHMS Shillong and RIMS Imphal for extension of service of final year PG's in all medical colleges till 1st year PG's joining.

The government has referred to the letter from Lady Harding Medical College and Smt SK Hospital and other central government institutions regarding the extension of service of 3rd year PG students of session 2023 who have completed their tenure.

In the letter it was mentioned that relieving the PG students might create a shortage of PG students affecting patient care. Hence, it has been requested to extend the tenure of 3rd year PG residents till fresh batch joins, said the government.

"The matter was put forward to the competent authority and it has been decided that as done during last year the services of these PG students as residents may be continued to be utilized with full pay/stipend until fresh batches of postgraduate students have joined physically to ensure that there is no shortage of residents in handling the clinical duties," reads the government's letter.
