After the Supreme Court issued a notice in this matter, a health activist claimed that the government is going to consider another special round of NEET PG 2023 counselling to fill the vacant seats.

The government had reduced the qualifying percentile for NEET-PG 2023 admission to zero to prevent the vacant seat. However, despite this decision, there are still many seats remaining vacant. Now, a health activist doctor from Lucknow has tweeted that the government is going to consider another special round of NEET PG 2023 counselling.

His tweet reads, "Although After the qualifying percentile for NEET-PG admission to leftover PG seats was reduced to zero. There are 1445 seats remains vacants .. Government is going to consider for Another Special Round of Counseling !!."

Recently, the apex court of India also issued a notice to the officials on a plea that sought directions for an extension of NEET PG counselling to fill the unclaimed and vacant seats. Now the government has formed a panel to review reasons for why there are 1,445 medical PG seats in India remaining vacant after counselling.

After three rounds of counselling, 862 MS, MD and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats under all India quota are vacant, and 583 seats are vacant under state quota. As per reports, the government is considering the fourth round of NEET PG 2023 counselling.

NEET PG counselling 2023 stray vacancy round final result was declared on October 16, 2023. A total of 2,858 candidates have been allotted seats in the stray vacancy round. The NEET PG 2023 exam was conducted for 13,649 MS seats, 26,168 MD seats, and 922 PG Diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India.
