NEET SS 2022: FORDA demands mop-up round for 1000 plus vacant seats

After two rounds of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Super Specialty Courses (NEET SS) 2022 were completed, there are more than 1000 seats which remain vacant. To prevent the previous seats from getting wasted, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has requested the Directorate General Of Health Services (DGHS) to issue these seats and conduct a mop-up round.

FORDA has written a letter to the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI, in this regard.

The letter reads, "NEET SS is a highly coveted examination, as it is a gateway to the most prestigious and pinnacle of medical education seats. Each year lakhs of students appear to view for a select number of seats. It is worth mentioning that one super specialty doctor serves the society in countless ways and augmentign their number in the country is the need of the hour."

"In the recent time the cut off score was decreased significantly to make up for the eligibility. We suggest and request that a similar step can considered along with the conduct of a mop up round, for the current session," added the letter.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the NEET SS 2022 exam for DM and MCh admissions.

The round 2 NEET SS 2022 counselling result was announced on January 4 in pdf format. In this round, 3,927 candidates were allotted seats in various medical colleges and the reporting was completed on January 12, 2022.
