NEET UG 2021 Counselling: NRI candidates should mail documents latest by tomorrow
As per the MCC notice, the NEET UG 2021 Counselling NRI candidates must send the related documents latest by March 12, up to 6 PM, through mail at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has notified all the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2021) Counselling candidates who want to get their nationality converted from Indian to Non-resident Indian (NRI) must send their relevant documents by mail at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com latest by March 12, up to 6 PM.
MCC notification reads, "It is for the information to all the candidates that those who are claiming to be NRI as per the directions/orders of Honβble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. (C) No.689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union Of India & Ors.) dated 22-08-2017 (Copy enclosed), such candidates should send their relevant documents as mentioned below, in support of their claim to change nationality from Indian to NRI through email ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com from 12:00 Noon of 11th March 2022 (Friday) up to 06:00 PM of 12th March 2022 (Saturday)."
All the candidates are also advised to keep visiting the MCC official website www.mcc.nic.in for a further course of action. The notification also says that any emails received before or after the stipulated time will not be considered. MCC has advised that candidates must send all documents enclosed in single mail only and within the stipulated time.
Eligible candidates for conversion to NRI category in NEET-UG 2021 Counselling

As per the directions of the Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. (C) No.689/2017- Consortium of Deemed universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union Of India & Ors.) dated 22-08-2017 and principles set out in Anshul Tomar (supra) case.
It says, "The principles set out in Anshul Tomar (supra), shall be followed this year for the purpose of filling up of 15% NRI quota. Be it clarified, the NRI quota shall include Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). The counselling shall be held and finalised by 31st August 2017, in respect of this quota and, if for some reason or other, the counselling is not concluded by that date, the same shall be completed by 4th September 2017. It needs no special emphasis to state that the present order is only applicable to the deemed universities and no other category of institutions."
