NEET UG 2023 Expected on May First Week; Application Forms to be Released by March: Reports
NEET UG 2023 exam is expected to be conducted in the first week of May. The application forms are likely to be released by March. A recent report by a national daily has stated the tentative dates of the exam. However, an official confirmation by NTA is awaited by December.
NEET UG 2023 application process is expected to begin in February or March and the exam is likely to be conducted in the first week of May. A recent media report by a national daily, The Times of India has stated the tentative dates for NEET 2023, the sole entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, BUMS and other medical courses. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body is expected to announce the NEET 2023 notification in December 2022.
There has been no official announcement or confirmation by NTA on this yet. The tentative date is similar to that of the pre-Covid era schedule. Although NEET was conducted in September in 2020 and 2021, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2022, the exam was conducted in July. Given the timeline, it can be expected that next year, NTA will be able to bring NEET date back on track.

NEET UG 2022 saw the highest number of registrations, 18,72,343. Out of this, the total number of test takers was 17,62,476 and as many as 9,93,069 test-takers qualified for the exam by securing the NEET 2022 cutoff score.
Last year onwards, the upper age limit factor of the NEET eligibility criterion was quashed, making the exam more approachable for aspirants. However, the lower age limit of 16 years as on December 31 of the year of taking NEET is still applicable.
NEET is conducted in a paper-pencil-based mode and has 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) out of which 180 questions have to be attempted from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) subjects. Each question carries four marks and there is a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.
