NEET UG 2023: NTA releases admit card; Candidates demand postponement
National Testing Agency has released the NEET UG 2023 admit card, the exam is on May 7, 2023, and the candidates are again demanding to postpone NEET UG 2023. Over 7500 aspirants have signed the online petition on Change.org to postpone the exam as they are not getting enough time to prepare for the crucial examination.
While the NEET UG 2023 exam is only 2 days away and the admit cards are out, the demand to postpone NEET UG 2023 is only getting stronger. The candidates are demanding the exam deferment and they have also signed an online petition on Change.org.
"We understand that govt is trying to bring back the pre pandemic academic schedule but postponing NEET to just 15 days will not do any harm in our opinion," reads the text of the petition.
Reasons cited for NEET UG 2023 postponement demand
The following are the main reasons given by the candidates to demand exam deferment:
- NEET UG 2023 exam clashes with board exam: They said in the petition that although on May 7 there is no board exam, the gap between the board exam and NEET should have a minimum of 15 days. Jammu board has a geography exam on May 3. It's not possible for a student to manage this exam along with NEET 2023. Punjab board has practicals. Nios board too has exams on May 6 and 8.
- Late city intimation: The students said the testing agency should be early with city intimation so that students and their parents can make arrangements according to their centre. We do agree that even JEE got city intimation just 5 days back but JEE has shifts, 2 attempts, and the total number of aspirants is half of NEET UG 2023. 20 days prior to NEET 2023 exam play's a very important role in students' scores. So, disturbances like the board, practicals, travelling etc may hinder students' preparation. 20 days prior to NEET 2023 should be only focussed on exam preparation.
- MBBS 2023-2024 session is not going to start before December 2023. So, what's the hurry to conduct the NEET 2023 exam in May, asked the candidates. Also, not everyone can afford a drop year, they added.
Candidates unable to download NEET UG 2023 Admit Cards
Some are also claiming on Twitter that they are not able to download the NEET 2023 admit cards. Here are a few related tweets:
"Unable to download my admit card. What's the reason?," says a tweet.
"Where is the admit card downloading link? Why are you doing this? You released notice regarding the release of NEET-UG 2023 admit card but there is nothing to see...... "
"Link to admit card is removed, website is updated last 4th may, and in the notice it says you can download the cards on 3rd may from 11 am. AM??," said another tweet.
