NEET UG 2023 Second Attempt: AISU submits representation to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar
After AIJNSU wrote a letter to MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his recommendation for the second attempt of NEET UG exam, now AISU submitted a representation to Bihar Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar requesting his recommendation to MoHFW for conducting NEET twice in a year.
In the series of students associations' efforts to recommend a second attempt of the NEET UG exam, now All India Students' Union (AISU) submitted a representation to the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and requested for his recommendation to the union health ministry for conducting NEET exam twice a year, starting from this year.
The union said that NEET UG once a year put immense pressure on the aspirants and it is also unfair to those who are not able to perform their best due to huge pressure to perform well in the highly competitive examination.
AISU highlighted that it is the single exam for all undergraduate medical courses and around 18 to 20 lakh students apply every year, hence it should be held twice and the result should be based on the best of either.
Conducting NEET twice a year will give students better opportunities and more time for preparation, suggested AISU. It will also reduce the anxiety and depression of the aspirants, and save a precious year as they will not have to wait for an entire year to appear in the exam again.
The letter says that if the student feels in the first attempt that they are underprepared, they will be able to opt for the second exam. It will help the student to prepare with a better strategy for the exam.
"We urge you to kindly recommend the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct NEET UG twice in a year for the benefit of the NEET UG aspirants. Conducting it two times with a gap of 40-50 days will change the entire system and be better for the students and medical fraternity," added the letter.
