The NEET UG 2024 counselling choice filling and locking window has been reopened by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on August 22, 2024, at 4 PM. Candidates can add or edit their seat choices till 11.59 PM today. The choice locking window will open at 8 PM today.
The NEET UG 2024 counselling choice filling and locking window has been reopened by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on August 22, 2024, at 4 PM. Candidates can add or edit their seat choices till 11.59 PM today. The choice locking window will open at 8 PM today.
Candidates who are interested in editing their choices should log in to their account and exercise choices after unlocking them. Announcing the same, MCC has stated, “In reference to the representations being received from ESIC/OCI candidates/ state counselling authorities it is to inform that the competent authority has decided to reopen the choice filling for Round-I of UG Counselling 2024 from 04:00 PM of 22.08.2024 upto 11:59 PM of 22.08.2024. Choice locking will start from 08:00 PM of 22.08.2024.”
Withdrawal of NEET 2024 Counselling Round 1 Seats
MCC has also notified the removal of 48 MBBS and BSc Nursing seats at the following institutes.

MCC has stated, “The seats mentioned above for withdrawal will be removed from the Seat Matrix before the allotment process of Round-1.”
Hence, candidates who have selected any of the above mentioned withdrawn seats, must login and choose other colleges and courses. Although the original schedule to declare the NEET UG 2024 counselling Round 1 seat allotment result is August 23, 2024, based on the reopening of the choice filling process, the date may get postponed.

The NEET counselling is segregated into two categories, central or national, and state counselling. The central counselling for NEET is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee or MCC. The NEET counselling process conducted by MCC is for the admission to the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats. On the other hand, State Authorities or the Education Department of various states conduct NEET state counselling for the 85 per cent state quota seats. MCC conducts the NEET counselling for MBBS BDS and B.Sc. Nursing courses. On the other hand, the State Counselling Authorities conduct the admission process for MBBS BDS BAMS, BHMS, and other medical or allied courses.

NEET 2024 counselling dates were announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on July 29, 2024. The counselling process started on August 14, 2024, and will conclude on December 30, 2024. NEET 2024 counselling Round 4 was conducted from October 22 to November 5, 2024. The Round 3 was conducted from October 2 to October 19, 2024. The Round 2 registration process began on September 5, 2024 and reopened from September 13 to September 16, 2024. The Round 1 was conducted from August 14 to August 31, 2024. MCC revised the dates on September 13, 2024, with the reopening of the registration process of Round 2 due to the change in seat matrix. As per the revised dates, the last date of the counselling is November 5, 2024. The number of rounds may get extended depending on the number of vacant seats. The state medical authorities will conduct the counselling process for the 85 per cent state quota seats.
