NEET UG Counselling 2022: Resignation of Seats Allotted in Round 1 to be Done by November 1
MCC has announced that candidates who have been allotted seats in the Round 1 of the NEET UG counselling 2022 can resign the seat by November 1, 5 pm. Know the details here.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notice stating that the seats allotted to candidates in Round 1 can be resigned by November 1, 5 pm. The final result of the Round 1 of NEET UG counselling 2022 was declared on October 21 and the institute reporting process has started on the same day and will conclude on October 28. According to MCC, once candidates complete the resignation process, then only will they be considered eligible for Round 2.
MCC states, “Candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated online (through portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’. In such a case, candidates will be deemed to occupy the seat still, and rules of Round-2 will apply.” The notice adds, “Any letter other than Resignation Letter generated through online portal will not be considered as ‘Resignation Letter’. In case candidates is resigning by sending email to college, s/he should make sure that they receive Resignation Letter generated through online portal of MCC.”
Upgradation of Seats for Round 2 of NEET Counselling
MCC mentions a caveat regarding the resignation of seats. In case candidates opts for upgradation in Round-2, participate in the second round of counselling but is not upgraded, s/he cannot resign the seat allotted in Round-2 and will have to retain the seat. There is no option of resignation if candidates is not upgraded in Round-2.
Candidates who joined in Round 1 and would neither participate in Round 2 nor resign the seat of Round 1 will be considered a part of Round 2 after the stipulated time. The registration process for Round 2 of NEET UG 2022 will begin on November 2.
