NEET UG Round 2 Counselling 2024 Registration, Choice Filing Ends Today; Seat Allotment on September 19

MCC NEET UG round 2 registration and choice filing process will conclude on September 16, 2024, for 15% AIQ MBBS and BDS seats and the round 2 seat allotment results will be announced on September 19, 2024

MCC NEET UG Counselling 2024

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will conclude the NEET UG round 2 counselling registration and choice-filling process 2024 today i.e. September 16, 2024. Those students who have not yet filled the counselling form or their preferred choices can complete the admission formalities at the earliest. The NEET UG 2024 counselling registration and choice filling link is activated in online mode at mcc.nic.in. Hence, eligible students who are looking for admission in 15% AIQ MBBS and BDS seats in medical/ dental colleges across India must fill their choices and lock them before the deadline.

"It is for the information to all candidates that the competent authority has decided to extend the Schedule for Round 2 of UG Counselling 2024 and revise the schedule of further rounds to add new seats in the matrix of Round 2 in pursuance to fresh Letters of permission (LoPs) issued by NMC/ MoHFW." Reads the official notification.

Meanwhile, the authorities have revised the MBBS seats for AIQ quota in round 2 NEET UG counselling 2024. A total of 225 MBBS seats have been added while 13 seats under All India Quota open seat quota, and Delhi University quota have been removed by the commission.

Q:   What is the current scenario of NEET UG Counselling 2024?

A:

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducted the NEET 2024 counselling Special Stray Vacancy Round 3 from December 23 to December 30, 2024. The provisional and final results were declared on December 24 and December 25. The institute reporting process is being conducted from December 25 to December 30, 2024. There were three MBBS seats for allotment in this round. 

The NEET 2024 counselling Special Stray Vacancy Round 2 was conducted from December 9 to December 16, 2024. While the payment and choice filling could be done from December 9 to December 10, the seat allotment result was declared on December 12, 2024. The institute reporting process is being conducted from December 12 to December 16, 2024.

The NEET 2024 Special Stray Vacancy Round 1 counselling was conducted from November 20 to November 30, 2024. The payment process was conducted from November 20 to November 21, 2024. The choice filling and locking rounds were held from November 20 to November 22, 2024. The provisional seat allotment result was declared on November 22, 2024, and the final result was declared on November 23, 2024, followed by the institute reporting process from November 25 to November 30, 2024.

MCC conducted the NEET 2024 counselling Round 4 from October 22 to November 5, 2024. The registration and choice filling process started on October 22 and October 23 respectively. The last dates of registration and choice filling and locking were extended till October 27 from October 25 and October 26 respectively. The provisional and final result was released on October 29 and October 30, 2024, respectively.

The Round 3 was conducted from October 3 to October 19, 2024. 

The NEET 2024 counselling Round 2 concluded on September 27, 2024. The round started on September 13, 2024.

The Round 1 of NEET 2024 counselling was conducted from August 14 to August 31, 2024. 

MCC had announced that the NEET 2024 counselling dates on July 29, 2024. As of now, four rounds of counselling has been announced, which will conclue on November 5, 2024. The total number of rounds may vary based on the number of vacant seats. Ahead of the commencement of the NEET 2024 counselling process, 

Q:   When did NEET 2024 counselling process begin?

A:

NEET 2024 counselling dates were announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on July 29, 2024. The counselling process started on August 14, 2024, and will conclude on December 30, 2024. NEET 2024 counselling Round 4 was conducted from October 22 to November 5, 2024. The Round 3 was conducted from October 2 to October 19, 2024. The Round 2 registration process began on September 5, 2024 and reopened from September 13 to September 16, 2024. The Round 1 was conducted from August 14 to August 31, 2024. MCC revised the dates on September 13, 2024, with the reopening of the registration process of Round 2 due to the change in seat matrix. As per the revised dates, the last date of the counselling is November 5, 2024. The number of rounds may get extended depending on the number of vacant seats. The state medical authorities will conduct the counselling process for the 85 per cent state quota seats. The dates for counselling were different for the national level and state level admission processes. There will be four to six rounds of NEET counselling, which is the gateway for admission to medical and allied courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS and BSc Nursing.  

Q:   Is it necessary to join allotted Medical/Dental College of Round 1 to get chance to participate in Round 2 of NEET counselling?

A:
No, candidates need not report or join the allotted college of NEET counselling Round 1 since there is free exit. However if they want to retain the Round 1 seat and upgrade in Round 2 they have to physically join the college of Round 1 and give up-gradation willingness for Round 2 at the time of admission. In case candidates decide to resign the seat allotted to them in the first round, then they can do so prior to registering in the next round of NEET counselling.
