The second government medical college will soon be established in East Singhbhum district within the premises of Khasmahal Sadar Hospital.

New Medical College in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur will soon have a second medical college in order to enhance medical education in Jharkhand. The proposed medical college will offer 100 MBBS seats.

Furthermore, the proposed medical college will be launched in East Singhbhum district. Reportedly, the government medical college will be established within the premises of Khasmahal Sadar Hospital.

This program is part of an overall objective to add a few additional medical colleges to Sadar hospitals, which currently exist in districts like Khunti, Bokaro, Sahibganj, Ramgarh, and Giridih in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand Health Department Submitted Proposal for New Medical College

The Jharkhand Health Department has submitted a proposal to the National Medical Commission (NMC) concerning establishing a new government medical college in Jamshedpur, as reported by Medical Dialogues.

As a result, Jamshedpur Sadar Hospital underwent a thorough inspection recently to collect all the data required for the NMC and attach the appropriate Letter of Permission (LOP) for establishing this new medical institution. Ajay Kumar Singh, the health secretary of Jamshedpur, conducted the inspection and assessed the Sadar Hospital facilities and infrastructure to facilitate this growth.

Consequently, a new medical college needs to undergo specific requirements in order to get a license, including appropriate infrastructure, facilities, and a capacity of 320 beds for patients.

At present, Jharkhand has a number of medical colleges, including Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Palamu, Dumka and Hazaribagh. However, the proposed medical colleges in Bokaro, Ramgarh, Sahibganj, Khunti, and Giridih aim to improve medical education in the state.
