New Principal, Medical Superintendent Appointed at SMS Medical College; Details Inside

The department announced the appointments after the resignation of Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta and Dr Achal Sharma from the positions of Principal and medical superintendent of SMS Hospital, respectively.

A new Principal and a Medical superintendent have been appointed at SMS Medical College by the state government of Rajasthan. Senior cardiologist Dr Deepak Maheshwari has been appointed as the acting principal of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College while the new acting medical superintendent of SMS Hospital is anaesthesia specialist Dr Sushil Bhati. 

The department announced the appointments after the resignation of Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta and Dr Achal Sharma from the positions of Principal and medical superintendent of SMS Hospital, respectively.

Dr Deepak Maheshwari is a senior cardiologist who has done DM in Cardiology while Dr Shushil Bhati is a professor of the Department of Anaesthesia at the SMS Medical College Jaipur, as reported by Medical Dialogues.

SMS Medical College has been in discussions lately because of different administrative situations. Recently, the resident doctors of SMS College were protesting against the suspension of PG medical students due to the delivery of a woman outside the labour room.   

The suspension order against three resident doctors of SMS Medical College has finally been revoked. However, the authorities instructed that the strike period would be compensated with resident doctor's holidays.
