Nitish Kumar inaugurates 500-Bedded "Shriram Janki" Medical College and Hospital

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inaugurated a new medical college and hospital in the name of "Shriram Janki" at Sarairanjan in Samastipur district.
The medical college is built at a cost of INR 591 crore. It has a 500-bed state-of-the-art hospital, equipped with all modern facilities.
After the inauguration, Nitish Kumar chaired a meeting of senior officials of the state health department and staff members of the hospital.
"With the inauguration of this hospital, people of this area will not have to go to other cities for better treatment. All medical facilities with advanced technologies are available here," the Chief Minister said.
"The capacity of this hospital will soon be increased to 1,000 beds. The Centre also played an important role in setting up of this medical college," he added.
All the buildings of "Shriram Janki" are earthquake-resistant. These buildings are constructed while following the environmental norms. The residential accommodation for the college principal, hospital superintendent, doctors, para-medical employees and students has been provided within the campus. A 'Dharamshala' also has been built on the campus to provide temporary stay to the relatives of patients, said a health department official, as reported by TOI.
Specialist doctors have been deputed here. College enrollment will also start from this session. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that due to the efforts of the Chief Minister, a medical college was opened in this area. Along with studies, people will also be able to get their treatment here, as reported by Amar Ujala.
