NMC directs medical colleges to submit Bank Guarantees by October 20

If necessary Bank Guarantees (BGs) are not submitted by October 20, 2023, the application to start/increase UG and PG courses for AY 2024-25 will be cancelled.

National Medical Commission issued a public notice regarding the submission of necessary Bank Gurantees (BGs) by the applicants for starting/increase of UG and PG courses in medical colleges during the AY 2024-25.

NMC said that all applicants who have submitted the applications successfully must submit the Bank Gurantees by October 20, 2023.

"All the applicants (Colleges) who have successfully submitted their applications for Academic Year 2024-25 on NMC Portal for Establishment of new Medical Colleges, increase of MBBS seats, starting of PG Courses and increase of PG seats are requested to submit the necessary Bank Guarantees (BGs), wherever applicable, on or before 20.10.2023 positively failing which their application will be rejected and not entertained in any circumstances," reads the official notification.

NMC commemorates World Mental Health Day with Tele MANAS Recognition

Tele MANAS is a remarkable milestone, the government's mental health helpline. It has received an overwhelming response, with over 3 lakh calls in the past year, said NMC Statement.

Tele MANAS, a 24X7 healthcare facility, which was launched on October 10, 2022, with the aim to provide free tele-menal health services throughout the country.

The program encompasses a network of 23 tele-mental health centres of excellence, with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) serving as the nodal center. The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore playes a pivotal role in providing technological support to ensure seamless and effective tele-mental health services.
