NMC gives 3 days time to students pursuing MBBS from abroad to rectify certificate issues
The Indian students who proceeded abroad to study MBBS without obtaining Eligibility Certificate, needs to rectify the certificate issues in 3 days time given by the Commission.
National Medical Commission (NMC) had earlier notified that as many as 972 students have taken admissions to foreign medical colleges without obtaining the Eligibility Certificate. Now, EMRB, NMC has diligently reviewed the applications submitted by various applicants. After careful evaluation, they have identified deficiencies in the applications.
"It is observed that applicants whose name is mentioned in Annexure-I have proceeded abroad without obtaining an Eligibility Certificate. Therefore, it has been decided by the Board to give 03 days time to all such applicants (Annexure-I) to submit their deficiencies through the eligibility portal of NMC. In case, the applicants whose
name is mentioned in Annexure-I do not fulfill the deficiency or do not submit the applications within 03 days from the date of publication of this notice the applications will be summarily rejected," reads NMC's official notification.
Timely rectification of the deficiencies will expedite the processing of the eligibility certificates otherwise found fit for grant of such Certificates and help the applicants move forward with their respective endeavors, added NMC.
"The requirement of taking an Eligibility Certificate before proceeding abroad has been dispensed w.e.f the declaration of result of NEET-UG 2019 vide public notice dated 05.04.2019 and accordingly after 05 June 2019, qualifying NEET-UG Exam has been made mandatory and shall be deemed to be treated as an Eligibility Certificate for Indian/OCI citizen intending to take admission in MBBS or equivalent Medical Course in any Foreign Medical Institution," it added further.
