No academic mobility for majority of Ukraine returned medical students

While Supreme Court has given 6 weeks time to the Centre to decide on FMGs, many of Ukraine's returned medical students are seeing no hope to complete their studies as the Ukraine universities have withheld the relieving letters for the students who had only three to four months to finish the course, hence these students are not able to avail the academic mobility allowed by NMC.

As per reports, many of Ukraine's returned medical students are finding it difficult to avail the academic mobility option and complete their remaining studies as the Ukraine universities have withheld the relieving letter for the students who had only three to four months to finish the course or those who joined after November 2021.

Ukraine returned Indian medicos who secured admissions without the help of agents are also finding it difficult to get the relieving certificates from their respective universities.

As per Mathrubhumi.com, the All Kerala Ukraine Medical Students and Parents Association president P Satheesan said that the union government which safely brought the students from the war zone to India through Operation Ganga should find a solution for their studies also.

Supreme Court gives 6 weeks to Centre to take decision on FMGs

The apex court has given 6 weeks time to the Centre to take a decision on the foreign medical graduates who had to return to the country due to unprecedented situations like the global pandemic and Russia and Ukraine war.

On the recommendation of the court, the Centre has established a committee which is examining the case of the students who were in their penultimate year of the medical undergraduate course.
