The NEET UG 2024 All India Rank 1 is shared by 67 students, each scoring a 99.997129 percentile.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has responded to representations and court cases from candidates regarding time loss during the NEET UG 2024 examination held on May 5, 2024. Candidates had raised concerns about the disruption, leading to potential disadvantages.

In a statement, NTA clarified that they considered these cases and implemented the normalization formula, as per the Hon'ble Apex Court's judgment dated June 13, 2018. This formula was used to ascertain the loss of examination time and provide affected candidates with grace marks. Consequently, candidate scores could reflect unusual totals, such as 718 or 719.

The issue sparked debate on social media, with users questioning the legitimacy of the results. Krishnendu Ghosh, a user on X, expressed skepticism: β€œHope NTA explains this too… if not to normal citizens. How is this acceptable? 719/718 marks? Kaise ho skta h? Kaise ho skta h itne saare rankers same center se? Don't give bakwas explanation.”

Another user, Hardik Choudhary, echoed the sentiment, alleging fraud: β€œ#NEET fraud ⚠️, How anyone can score 718 marks? It is impossible after 720 you can only score 716 marks. 718 is not possible. This is a scam. If 89 students have scored 720 marks how can he get All India Rank 69? If you have doubt, go to website and enter his roll number.”

Despite the controversy, NTA has officially announced the NEET UG 2024 results today. Candidates can check their results on the NTA NEET website at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET. The provisional answer key was released on May 29, with the objection window closing on June 1, 2024.

This year, the cut-off for general and general-PH category candidates increased from 720-137 last year to 720-164. All India Rank 1 is shared by 67 students, each scoring a 99.997129 percentile.

According to NTA data, 9,96,393 male candidates, 13,31,321 female candidates, and 17 transgender candidates appeared for the exam, with an overall attendance of 96.94%. Male candidates had an attendanc

rate of 96.92%, females 96.96%, and transgender candidates 94.44%.
