NTA and the Union Education Ministry have confirmed that there will be no change in the NEET-UG 2021 exam date, medical aspirants demand exam postponement on social media.

Amid the ongoing students demand to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG examination, the Union Education Ministry and the National Testing Agency (NTA) have confirmed that the scheduled date for the exam is not going to change any further and the exam will be held on September 12.

NTA Director General, Vineet Joshi has said that the NEET exam date does not directly clash with the date of the CBSE board exam dates, hence there is no need to postpone it. Moreover, the Union Ministry of Education stated that any changes in the exam date will result in the postponing of the exam by yet another 60 to 70 days due to logistical issues.

After the announcement, the candidates posted on Twitter under #JusticeforNEETUGAspirants hastag.

Moreover, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has also written to the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requesting to postpone the exam as the date clashes with other examinations. The students have been quite active in demanding on Twitter to postpone the examination till October.

The main reason the students are giving for their demand is that the exam date is clashing with that of other exams like CBSE class 12 improvement and compartment exams have been scheduled to be held between August 25 and September 15. The mathematics paper is just the next day after the NEET-UG date.

Other exams which are close are Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) 2021, Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2021, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA), and the national level undergraduate entrance exam for BSc courses.
