According to OJEE chairman SK Chand, there are only six vacant MBBS seats at Hi-Tech Medical College Hospital (MCH), Rourkela, whereas Hi-Tech MCH Bhubaneshwar has only one vacant seat.

OJEE 2020 Seat Allotment: Odisha Joint Entrance Examination, OJEE 2020 medical counselling round three of seat allotment for MBBS and BDS concluded leaving only 22 medical seats vacant. According to the official reports, the aforementioned vacant seats belong to the NRI quota in Hi-Tech Medical College. Meanwhile, the MBBS and BDS seats in government colleges are entirely filled up in the state. OJEE is now conducting medical counselling for state quota seats and returned seats of AIQ (All India Quota). According to OJEE chairman SK Chand, there are only six vacant MBBS seats at Hi-Tech Medical College Hospital (MCH), Rourkela, whereas Hi-Tech MCH Bhubaneshwar has only one vacant seat. He further added that on the other hand there are as many as 15 vacant BDS seats in Hi-Tech Dental College, Bhubaneswar.

The OJEE can only allot 85% of the medical seats leaving 15% for the All India Quota (AIQ). Once the admission for AIQ seats is concluded, the vacant seats are then handed over to the state. There are a total of 1513 seats in Odisha comprising 1350 MBBS seats and 163 BDS seats in seven government (along with SCB Dental College) and three private medical colleges. Out of the total seats, 1330 seats fall under the state quota, and 183 seats belong to the All India Quota seats.

After the allotment of AIQ, 79 seats are returned to the state quota which brings the total count of seats under the state quota to 1409 (1248 MBBS and 161 BDS).

Only 28 MBBS and 21 BDS states were vacant after the completion of Round 2 seat allotment of medical seats on December 12, 2020. After the first round of seat allotment, 276 medical seats were vacant for admissions. After this third round, the state concluded the counselling.
