OJEE to start counselling for medical, engineering seats from June last week
As per reports, OJEE authorities are all set to start the counselling process for medical and engineering seats in higher education institutes of Odisha by June last week.
The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee under the skill development and technical education (SDTE) will start the counselling process for medical and engineering seats in higher education institutes soon.
OJEE had planned to start the counselling in the first week of June but due to the delay in getting the seat matrix, the process got delayed. OJEE 2023 counselling is an online process for final seat allotment.
The results for NEET UG 2023 and JEE Main were released on June 13, 2023, and April 29 respectively.
The OJEE counselling process comprises registration, option locking, the announcement of seat allotment, document verification, and admission confirmation.
OJEE engineering counselling, OJEE chairman Pravin Kumar Kar stated that they must first obtain the seat matrix (finally approved seats at technical colleges) before beginning the counselling procedure.
“According to the procedure, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will provide the state government with information regarding final approved seats. Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) will also provide institutions with a no objection certificate (NOC) for seats approved by AICTE. The seat matrix is then presented to us. After receiving the seat matrix, we will promptly begin the counselling procedure,” he continued, as reported by Eduvast.
Regarding medical counselling, Kar stated that the Directorate of medical education and Training (DMET) will provide them with a seat matrix in order to initiate the counselling procedure. “We will receive the seat matrix shortly, and tentatively begin the counselling process by the last week of June,” he added.
