PGIMER Admission 2025: PhD Counselling Date Out for January Session; Know Documents Required

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh has announced the PhD counselling dates for the January 2025 session at the official website. Students who have appeared for the PhD entrance test can now check the PGIMER 2025 PhD admission date. As per the notification, the PGIMER PhD counselling date 2025 for January session is December 30, 2024. Students who will be named on the merit list will have to appear for the counselling process at 3 PM in the APC Auditorium of PGIMER Chandigarh.
"Counseling for admission to PhD course for the January 2025 session is scheduled on 30.12.2024 at 3:00 PM in the APC Auditorium, PGIMER, Chandigarh. A list of provisional qualified candidates on the basis of merit in the entrance exam will be displayed on the PGI website shortly." The official notification reads.
PGIMER 2025 Counselling Process: Students Exempted from Entrance Test
The authorities conducted the entrance examination for PhD admissions. However, candidates carrying fellowships from various funding agencies and in-service medical faculty of PGI were exempted from appearing in the entrance test. The students who have been exempted from the entrance test have to appear for the counselling process directly.
Documents Required for PGIMER PhD Admission 2025
Students need to carry their personal and academic documents in order to complete the counselling process. The documents such as valid ID proof, date of birth certificate, educational qualification documents, sponsorship certificate (If required) and NOC from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (if required) shall be submitted for admission purposes.

Q: How to apply for BSc courses at PGIMER Chandigarh?
PGI Chandigarh generally enables its application portal for various BSc courses in the month of May. The college only accepts online applications and no request for offline applications are entertained. Moreover, it is mandatory to apply via college’s official website. Steps to apply are as follows:
1. Visit PGI Chandigarh official website
2. Navigate to the ‘Information for Candidates’ section and find the BSc application form link
3. Fill in all the required details
4. Take a printout of the form for future purposes and make the application fee payment
Note: The PGIMER Chandigarh BSc application fee for all the BSc courses under the General category is INR 1,000 and for SC/ST candidates it is INR 800.
Q: What is the admission process for PGIMER?
PGIMER admission process is based on entrance score. To apply for admission, applicants must complete Class 12 with relevant aggregate scores for admission to UG courses. Applicants must also hold a valid score in the INICET examination for MD/ MS/ MCh/ DM. INICET is conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. Admission to MS/MD courses is conducted twice a year and the new session starts in January and July every year. For few courses, PGIMER accepts the admission based on PGIMER entrance test followed by counselling. the application process is completely online.

Students who have passed their HSC or Class 12 can apply for BSc courses at PGIMER Chandigarh. Applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria become eligible for the CBT entrance test. Once the applicants have taken the test, the test scores are used to produce a rank list. Based on the rank list, the PGI Chandigarh prepares a cut off list.
Candidates who meet the eligible cut off are then invited for personal counselling rounds at the institute. Once the seats get allocated, candidates are required to pay the admission fee prescribed by the college in the stipulated timeframe.
