PGIMS Rohtak protest: Docs decided to withdraw OPD services for an indefinite period

The protest against the Haryana bond policy of INR 40 lakh for MBBS admission is going on since November 1 and now the doctors have withdrawn all OPD services for an indefinite period.

The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of PT BD Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences Rohtak has released a statement which stated that due to no concrete response from the government on the bond policy, they are escalating the protest by withdrawing all the OPD services, elective and ward services for an indefinite period.

"After multiple meetings with the delegations, no satisfactory response was given to the students. Hence to show support to these students and to restore their spirits, it was decided that RDA would stage a symbolic protest by organizing pen down on November 19, November 21 and November 22 for 1, 2 hours and 3 hours respectively," reads RDA's statement.

The statement added that due to no positive response from government authorities, they have decided to withdraw the OPD services after 12 pm on November 23, 2022.

"As per the common consensus in the meeting with the residents, it was decided that if the government authorities give no concrete response then we will be escalating the protest by withdrawing all the OPD services, elective and wards services for an indefinite period of time," added the statement.
